I am not going to go into the health benefits of the recipes I post here. I do have other blogs for that. But here is a recipe that really tastes good. As with all of my recipes, if you are interested in ordering any of the oils, please send me an email and I will give you the information on how to order them.
Faux Fresca-Like Soda Drink
3/4 cup grapefruit juice
3/4 cup club soda
crushed ice
Liquid Stevia to taste, or sweetener of your choice
2 drops Zendocrine essential oil blend
4 drops Slim and Sassy essential oil blend
3 drops grapefruit essential oil
Fill a glass halfway with crushed ice (you can omit this part if you like your soda warm!). Place Stevia drops on ice, or whatever sweetener you will be using. Place drops of essential oils on ice. Add grapefruit juice and Club soda. Put a straw in it. Viola. Enjoy. Makes one glass.
I had run out of Zendocrine essential oil blend, so I haven't added it for a long time. Not sure if it really makes any difference in the taste if it is there or not.
One additional thing I have done to make the flavor even better is that I took some limes and sliced them up. I put them in a quart size glass jar and poured club soda over them. Whenever I want to make a glass of this Fresca like drink, I use some of the lime club soda in it. When I am done taking out enough club soda from the jar of limes, I replace the club soda I used with more club soda. I will do this until the limes turn ragged. I also did this with some oranges. I will use both in my drinks until the fruit is no longer any good.
Also, a warning about essential oils: I have used essential oils from lots of different companies and many of them do not recommend using them for internal use, even those which are taken from plants we normally would eat (like ginger and lemon). There could be a lot of reason for this, but one thing is that is could have other oils added that may not be good to ingest. There are different grades of oils and you want to use the best for food grade, which is Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG). Most oils you find on the Internet or in health food stores won't have this kind of grade, so please be careful in your choosing of essential oils you will use in cooking or in a recipe that you will be eating.
