My Thieves-Like Recipe

Here is my recipe of essential oils that I use in the diffuser. It is like Thieves (Thieves is a trade-mark of an essential oil company). This is not a recipe you would use in cooking though (done it by accident! Not good!).

I put these oils in a diffuser, making sure the water level is at the correct place.

Thieves-Like Essential Oils For The Diffuser

2 drops Clove essential oil
2 drops Wild Orange essential oil
2 drops Lemon essential oil
2 drops Cinnamon essential oil
2 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
2 drops Rosemary essential oil

If you have never heard of the story of how we came up with 'Thieves' oil, the story goes like this;
During a plague, probably in Europe, there were some grave robbers who were digging up the graves of those who died from the plague (maybe others too). They were finally caught and when they were going to be penalized for their crimes, they got off the hook by revealing their trade secret. They covered themselves with a combination of clove, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus and rosemary oils. Apparently, there are quite a few versions of this story, and no one really knows if it is true or just legend.

Coconut Iced Green Tea

Here is a good way to make iced-tea that is a little different from the norm. Coconut water contains electrolytes.

Coconut Iced Green Tea

4 green tea bags
1 quart purified water
2 cups coconut water
Stevia or sweetener to taste
3 drops lemon essential oil
3 drops spearmint essential oil

Heat the water until it just starts to boil. Remove from heat and place tea bags in water. Let steep for about 5 minutes. Place drops of essential oils and stevia on bottom of a mason jar or pitcher. Pour tea into a mason jar or pitcher. Add coconut water and place in refrigerator. Serves 6-8.
